"The shoe is inspired by the art of Talavera de Puebla, Mexico. Talavera is a handcrafted art distinguished by its white and blue colors. The shoe tells the history Mexico has lived. At the center, the heart of Mexico, big and burning. Around it, cacti, wolves, and eyes. Mexicans see with the strength of a wolf and the resistance of a cactus. The Mexican lives day to day in the city, land, sea, jungle, desert, but the day his heart stops beating, he can finally reach the great feast of death and find our ancestors. The sun and moon are Yin and Yang, creating an eclipse of our experiences. Like the pyramids when conquered, some were demolished and others built over. For this reason they have 2 colors, the mixture between old and new. The shoe is past, present, and future. The Mexican is fighting for his roots: the large moon in the back signifies the longing for the night to come and the desire to continue dreaming of the beautiful culture that we carry in our blood, the history of a country rich in culture and color. This shoe is what we endured, what we dream about, what we live day to day in our country. This illustration is for Mexico, my Mexico."
