Indulge Thyself // Fudge Brownie


  • 226 g semi-sweet chocolate
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sea salt


  1. Preheat oven to 180C or 350F

  2. Line a 9 inch square Baking pan with parchment paper

  3. Take half the chocolate and melt it on the stove by placing the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a sauce pan filled half way with hot water

  4. In the stand mixer’s bowl add melted butter, sugar and mix

  5. Add the egg and vanilla, mix for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture is pale and fluffy. After the melted chocolate has cooled, pour it into the stand mixer and mix until well combined

  6. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and salt

  7. Fold in the dry ingredients without over folding

  8. Add in the other half of the chocolate and fold it in

  9. Transfer the batter to the baking pan, sprinkle with sea salt and to the oven for 20-25 minutes (we kept it for 20 minutes)

  10. Cool completely for half an hour then slice!
